Sam Hankins Shines in Hollywood,Wins Big at the IMC Awards!
Hollywood, CA, September 8, 2021 – Some of the best independent singers and bands from around the world hit the red carpet Sunday during the 10th Annual Indie Music Channel Awards held at Sunset Gower Studios, the legendary film and TV studio in Hollywood. Among those recognized for their outstanding achievements in music were Pasadena resident Sam Hankins, who won numerous awards during the event, including “Best Instrumental Video” for his song, “I’m Okay”, as well as “Best Soundtrack Artist”, Best Soundtrack Songwriter”, “Best Jazz Demo” and “Demo of the Year” for his newest hit “Pasadena Groove”. Hankins, who began playing trumpet at the age of 12, has performed with some of the biggest names in music, including Al Jarreau, Aretha Franklin, and many more. “It feels great to have my music be highly regarded by the music industry” says Hankins. “To be honored among some of the best Independent artists in the world is truly special”.
The Indie Music Channel Awards is a prestigious annual event where the best independent singers and bands of all genres of music (including Rock, Pop, Country, Classical, R&B, Christian Contemporary and more) from around the world are recognized for their outstanding achievement. This year the popular awards show was held at Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood, where some of the biggest movies and television shows in history have been made, from classics such as “The Three Stooges” and “I Dream of Jeannie”, to “Scandal”, “Grace & Frankie” and many, many more.
Hankins is hard at work finishing up his next album, due to be released in 2022. He can also be seen performing every Tuesday at Pips on La Brea, featuring the legendary Barbara Morrison.
